Other Notes: We picked up Spencer on Christmas Eve in 2010 from the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society's off-site facility. He had been living there since he was a puppy and was very under-socialized and fearful. Since being in our rescue for about a year - he has become quite adjusted to home life and is a joy to have around. It takes some time for him to trust you - but once he does he is a lovable teddy bear! He loves going for walks - being petted - working for treats - and playing with his doggie friends. Spencer does not have a mean bone in his body and deserves a forever home who will love him unconditionally.
Spencer does suffer from seizures and will be on medication for the rest of his life to help him.

She is a timid girl and is overwhelmed by the big changes that have happened in her life. It will take time for her to fully adjust to her new lifestyle and is coming around slowly but surely. She has a history if skin allergies but has been off of all medication and is doing wonderful. She LOVES going to the beach to run in the sand and take in the smells! Bonnie is such a sweet natured girl and will be a great companion for the right family.

Other Notes: Tiny came to us from our local animal control where he was for over a month. He was adopted a year ago and returned due to his owner being "pregnant and unable to bathe him". He was suffering with heart worms for over a year and has a condition with his eyes that will need surgical repair. He has successfully went through heartworm treatment and will soon be going in for eye surgery. After that he will be anxiously awaiting his forever home.

Other Notes: Chupa was found wandering the streets in Virginia Beach as a stray. No owner came forward for this little boy so we pulled him to safety so he can live the rest of his life in peace. He is extremely ill - having a heart murmur, horrible dental disease, blind, hard of hearing, and possible neurological issues. This poor dog has been through such a hard life (we can't even begin to imagine) we felt it was worth a try to show him what a dogs life should really be like. He is under strict veterinary care and we will update often with his progress. Please keep Chupa in your thoughts. <3

We stepped in and pulled Fella to safety and he went into surgery right away. He had a toe tumor that got so large it opened, requiring Fella to have a toe amputated. He is acting like a new man and gets around so much better now. He is recovering quickly from his surgery and is ready to find his forever home! He is a total shadow to his person and just wants a family to love and care for him.

Other Notes: Wendy came to us from our local animal control where she was for over a month with no luck at adoption. This small mellow girl is suffering from bladder stones. She is on a special diet and medication to see if the stones will dissolve. In a month we will find out if we were successful or if Wendy will have to go into surgery to have them removed. Wendy is a sweet girl learning what affection and love is like - she still seems a little confused when her foster family tries to snuggle with her. She is very well mannered in the home and gets along great with other easy going pets.

Other Notes: Pearl came to us from our local animal control where she arrived in poor shape. She was severely matted, underweight, and appeared to have trouble seeing. After some TLC and a trip to our vet, Pearl is making a great recovery. She has a nice hair cut and is much more comfortable and happy. Pearl has cataracts in both eyes which are not painful but inhibit her from seeing. She doesn't seem to mind and gets along just fine despite her handicap. She wants nothing more than a lap to lay in a lots of love. She enjoys a relaxed lifestyle and will be a great constant companion for someone.

She does not understand her size yet and is learning how to play "gentle" with smaller sized play mates. He is also suffering from a skin issue which we are currently treating. This special little boy has special needs, but does not let that affect his spirit. He is affectionate, loyal, and courageous. Timmy will be remaining in our rescue indefinitely, representing us as our "K9JL Mascot". :)
